Abstract

286,833. Goodall, C. May 18, 1927. Small chambers.-Drying fluid is forced through a balk of timber supported in a cylinder, the upper end of the balk being opposed to the pressure of the fluid admitted through a pipe m, while the lower end is subjected to the vacuum in a space formed between a metal plate g and an elastic ring f which adapts itself to irregularities in the end surface of the timber. The space communicates through a pipe k and a sap trap l with a vacuum pump.
